Ruth Bader Ginsberg is justly considered a feminist icon, and a legal trailblazer. Before she became a key figure of the US supreme court, her legal career set fundamental precedents. In this biopic, we see Ginsberg (Felicity Jones) team with her husband Martin (Armie Hammer) to address a case that has wide-ranging implications for sexual discrimination.
Battling open and hidden misogynies both as she trains as a lawyer and then as she takes on cases in the 1970s, we see both the outward persona and her inner struggles. A sincere story that is a balm in a time of attacks on women’s rights.
