"The Florida Project is one of the best films about childhood made anywhere in recent years."
-Geoffrey Macnab, Independent

"Vibrant and brimming with vitality, this is empathic towards its subjects but fiercely critical of the system that victimises them."
-Helen O’Hara, Empire Magazine

"Baker has the gift of seeing things from a child’s view. There is a kind of genius in that."
-Peter Bradshaw, Guardian

"The Florida Project absolutely sings as a visual achievement, and not only as that. Baker has chosen for his setting a roadside strip-motel in Orlando, and turns it into the single most vivid location in recent movies"
-Tim Robey, The Telegraph

"Willem Dafoe knows from tortured roles (Platoon, The Last Temptation of Christ), but this creation -- a delicate blend of protector, fusspot and secret survivor -- is his richest, most lovable piece of work."
-Joshua Rothkopf, Time Out

"Things look grim for Halley and Moonee, but we can expect a lot from the people who brought their marvelous story to light."
-Jordan Hoffman, Guardian

"One of the most memorable pictures I’ve seen all year."
-Brian Viner, Daily Mail

Warm, winning, and gloriously alive, Sean Baker’s The Florida Project is a deeply moving and unforgettably poignant look at childhood. Set on a stretch of highway just outside the imagined utopia of Disney World, The Florida Project follows six-year-old Moonee (Brooklynn Prince in a stunning breakout turn) and her rebellious mother Halley (Bria Vinai, another major discovery) over the course of a single summer. The two live week to week at “The Magic Castle,” a budget hotel managed by Bobby (a career-best Willem Dafoe), whose stern exterior hides a deep reservoir of kindness and compassion.
